Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned technology solutions provider based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Network Engineer / Senior Network Architect to lead the design, deployment, and support of complex network infrastructures. This on-site position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting government and enterprise clients.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

• Minimum of 16 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering and infrastructure design

• Demonstrated experience delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions in mission-critical environments

Core Technical Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate deep, hands-on experience with:

• Enterprise-level network architecture, design, and implementation
  
  
• Core network technologies, including:
  • Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and ISIS

  • Switching protocols such as STP, LACP, and VTP

• Network automation and orchestration tools

• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

• Software-defined networking (SD-WAN) solutions

• MPLS network deployment and operations

Leadership & Communication Skills

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers

• Skilled in developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation , including network designs, implementation plans, and operational procedures

• Comfortable presenting technical solutions and architecture briefings to design review boards and stakeholders

• Self-motivated and able to learn and apply new technologies independently
  
  
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a history of resolving complex network issues
