Bilingual Pre-Kindergarten Teacher - English/Spanish
Summary We are looking for a qualified and loving Bilingual Teacher (English / Spanish) to work at our Arlington location with our Pre-K students. The classrooms have a Spanish teacher and an assistant teacher, together you will make a dynamic team! Duties Responsibilities :
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group (co-teaching) and small-group learning.
- Observe and develop each child help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional conflicts
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum to ensure kindergarten readiness
- Track children's progress and report to parents through daily written communication, twice yearly parent teacher conferences, and semesterly progress reports
- Collaborate with other educators
- Contribute productively to the school as a whole
- Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned
- Attend and participate in established traditional school-sponsored activities (i.e. back-to-school night, recitals, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members), which may be outside of regular school hours
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven English and Spanish proficiency.
- Proven skills and knowledge about Teaching English (English grammar, spelling, semantics, vocabulary, etc.).
- Understanding the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
- Good communication and instructional skills.
- BA in Early Childhood Education or similar degree in teaching
- CDA and further graduate work
- Ability to have transcripts transferred
