Job Description

About Reingold

Reingold is a full-service marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA. For more than 40 years, we’ve been driven by a simple mission: to help organizations –– whether in the government, nonprofit, or business sector –– as they strive to make the world a better place. We hire top-notch talent to develop and launch compelling, inventive communications campaigns, leveraging the latest technology and digital media strategies that enable our clients to meet their audiences where they are.

We’re proud to say we’ve built a team of curious, passionate pros — from marketers and tech wizards to designers and strategists — who love what they do and bring their A-game every day. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We believe great ideas come from collaboration, humor, and a little bit of fun along the way.

When you work at Reingold, you get more than a job, you get a community. We offer competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a dynamic hybrid work environment, a vibrant workplace and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means when we find great people (and they find us), they stick around for the long term.

That's where you come in. We’re looking for a Research and Business Analytics Director to lead cross-functional teams and help uncover meaningful business insights across a variety of industries. In this role, you’ll blend analytical thinking, business curiosity, and strong communication skills to deliver impactful reporting, dashboarding, and ad-hoc analysis that drives smarter decisions, while also helping shape internal data strategies and best practices.

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least two days per week on site at Reingold’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

Here’s the work you’ll do:

Essential Functions:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects involving research and discovery, program evaluation (especially training programs), and data analysis and reporting.
  • Provide direct support to executive-level clients by exploring disparate data sets to create data-driven narratives that prove impact.
  • Design and develop evidence-based strategies and plans for complex data projects and present them to internal and client audiences.
  • Contribute to the department’s capacity-building and growth efforts, including writing language for proposals to win new work and identifying emerging industry trends.
  • Oversee a team of junior analysts and technical developers to translate business requirements into client-ready solutions (dashboards, apps, automations).
  • Use Excel to analyze and report on a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data, including creating graphs, writing key takeaways, and translating findings into recommendations.
  • Identify and address opportunities to increase project team efficiency and impact through technology solutions, especially artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Manage budgets and ensure compliance with project requirements; reduce risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Uphold industry standards for data quality, reporting integrity, and project management.
  • Participate in department staffing, strategy, and prioritization decisions.
This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time.

This role is a good fit for someone with these qualifications, experience and skills:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a research-oriented social science.
  • At least eight years of experience, including in account management, consulting, or similar customer service roles.
  • At least two years of experience managing teams and reviewing others’ work for accuracy and strength.
  • Experience with research methodologies, especially survey design and focus groups.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including nested formulas, pivot tables, and dual-axis graphs.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word, especially formatting graphs and tables.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Public Trust determination.
  • Exceptional writing and speaking skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, with a mindset for both the big picture and the small details.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and a reputation for being detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in business administration or data science.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Power BI, Apps, Automate, or Pages.
  • Experience working with government clients or with health data.
  • Credentials or coursework related to project management (e.g., PMP).
  • An interest in education, health care, or military or veteran communities.
  • Innate desire for continual performance improvement.
  • Aptitude and passion for learning new technologies.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may supervise one or more employees.

Work environment and physical requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
