Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in Roanoke, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and project management, with a passion for delivering successful projects to clients. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs
- Create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are met
- Coordinate with internal team members and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Perform calculations and analysis to support project design and decision-making
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
- Provide regular project updates to clients and address any issues or concerns that arise
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations
- Mentor and train junior engineers and provide guidance and support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and project management, preferably in a consulting environment
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members at all levels
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection design is required
