Physician - Clinic Chief Primary Care (Fredericksburg)
Summary
Deputy Chief of Primary Care and/or the Associate Chief of Staff Primary Care to provide professional and administrative leadership for the Primary Care Clinic that they supervise. The Clinic Chief has responsibilities including staffing, work assignments, budget, clinical services, and day-to-day operations. Collateral assignments will be decided at the discretion of the Deputy Chief of Primary Care and/or the Associate Chief of Staff Primary Care.
Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending completion of training or licensing requirements may be considered for tentative selection but not for hire until requirements are met. VA-employed physicians meeting previous qualification standards are deemed qualified. The applicant must be Board Certified.
Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship (non-citizens only when qualified citizens are unavailable)
- Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US
- Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification, in an accredited program
- Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and only appointed on an intermittent or fee basis
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Physical and mental/sensory requirements including lifting, standing, reasoning, and handling multiple priorities in a sometimes noisy environment
Duties
- Offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including participation in the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP)
- Manage clinic services, participate in facility-wide committees, and lead strategic initiatives
- Develop and evaluate clinical guidelines, supervise staff, and ensure quality of care
- Perform administrative, technical, and clinical supervision of an inter-professional team
- Handle personnel management functions and establish performance expectations
- Provide feedback, training, and resolve staff issues
- Work schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
