Facilities Maintenance Manager I - Chantilly, VA Location
Omega is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the operational integrity and physical safety of our commercial/institutional properties. If you have a proven track record of maintaining complex building systems, managing budgets, and driving compliance, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities:
As a strategic leader, you will oversee and operate all aspects of facilities operation and maintenance:
- Building Systems Management: Develop and rigorously execute Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for critical systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and structural elements. Maximize the use of our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work orders and asset tracking.
- Compliance & Safety (EHS): Ensure continuous, 100% adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards, fire codes, and ADA requirements. Develop and lead emergency response plans and safety training.
- Vendor and Contract Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of vendor relationships—from sourcing and contract negotiation (including defining strict SLAs) to performance monitoring and financial control (approving P.O.s and invoices).
- Aesthetics & Sanitation: Oversee all cleaning and sanitation services (organic and contracted), conducting weekly inspections to guarantee superior cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards across all facility areas.
- Financial & Administrative: Prepare, justify, and manage annual OpEx and CapEx budgets. Conduct detailed cost forecasting and generate insightful performance reports for executive leadership.
- Team Leadership: (If applicable) Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor any in-house facilities staff, fostering a culture of safety and professional accountability.
What You Will Bring: Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, hands-on experience in commercial or institutional facilities management or a related trade. Experience leading projects or supervising vendor teams is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep, practical understanding of major building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
- Business Acumen: Proven ability to manage complex budgets, negotiate high-value contracts, and conduct effective cost-benefit analyses.
- Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FMP, CFM, HVAC Licenses) are highly desirable.
- Software Skills: High proficiency in CMMS software and standard office applications.
