Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks experienced educators specializing in services for students who are visually impaired. The position involves working within a K-12 setting to provide instruction and support tailored to students' unique learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction for visually impaired students across multiple school locations.
- Collaborating with educational teams to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conducting assessments and implementing appropriate teaching strategies.
- Traveling between up to four sites to provide itinerant services.
- Maintaining detailed records of student progress and reports.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification and/or training as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Prior experience working with visually impaired K-12 students, preferably in an itinerant role.
- Ability to provide in-person instruction; this role does not support virtual teaching.
- Strong communication skills and flexibility in scheduling.
- Willingness to travel for service delivery across multiple locations.
This is a part-time, contract position with a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week spread over two flexible days. Candidates residing outside the immediate area but willing to travel are encouraged to apply.
