Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Job Description

Responsible for the implementation and execution of the Quality Control Program. Inspect, test, sort, sample, and/or weigh raw materials or processed/machined/fabricated or assembled products for defects. Utilize precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document Pre- and Post-Pour Inspections of precast products.
  • Conduct and document Final Inspection of products before delivery and reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
  • Test and document fresh concrete in accordance with industry standards.
  • Test and document hardened concrete in accordance with industry standards.
  • Assist in monitoring and arranging for timely calibration and maintenance of QC gauges, scales, machines, and other equipment.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection as needed.
  • Interact with government and industry inspectors as needed.
  • Monitor quality and test conformance to standards of incoming raw materials.
  • Prepare for industry certification inspections, such as NPCA Plant Certification.
  • Learn the operations of the Batch Plant and batching system.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by QC, Plant Manager, and/or QAQC Manager.
Essential Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in quality control, particularly in a concrete manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of concrete batching design.
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy objects.
  • Excellent attendance is a must.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Construction experience is a bonus.
  • Experience in a Quality Control function in a concrete manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with weighing and testing equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
