- Job-Specific Insights This position will provide technical review and analysis of complex and significant development plans. Review, inspect, and process new street additions, utilities and county bond projects and additions into the State Secondary System. Review, approve, process, issue and inspect work activities under permit (private and commercial entrance permits, utility permits and land use permits) to ensure compliance with VDOT standards and specifications. Meet with government officials and staff, developers, private sector engineers and consultants, VDOT staff and supervisors to discuss and resolve issues requiring in-depth knowledge of comprehensive plan processes, zoning processes, land use, site plan design, highway design, traffic operation features and relevant VDOT policies and procedures. Coordinate resolution of public-private sector policies, procedures and engineering issues associated with major and complex development plans to determine needs.
