Microsoft Exchange SME - TS/SCI Required!
Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
About the Role
Were seeking a Microsoft Exchange Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a critical Exchange Server migration and upgrade for a secure government client. This project offers the opportunity to work within a high-impact, classified environment, optimizing a complex Exchange infrastructure that supports mission-critical communications.
After the initial upgrade phase, documentation and patching work can be completed remotely with limited onsite visits.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the migration and upgrade of Microsoft Exchange to Server SE within a classified network environment (JWICS).

Ensure full compliance with DoD and federal security standards , including STIGs and RMF.

Optimize and tune Exchange server performance, mail flow, and client functionality.

Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation aligned with government-required artifacts.

Collaborate with infrastructure teams to troubleshoot, automate, and improve Exchange operations using PowerShell scripting .

Provide expert guidance on Exchange architecture, implementation, and security best practices.
Required Qualifications

7-10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange architecture, migration, and administration.

Proven experience working within DoD or classified environments (JWICS, SIPR, NIPR).

Strong understanding of Exchange server security and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in PowerShell (Ansible or Python a plus).

Experience producing clear, compliant documentation for technical and government audiences.

Current certifications: Security+ , IAT Level II (DoD 8140) , and either MCSE or MCSA .

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical teams.
Preferred Experience

Prior work supporting Exchange upgrades in secure or government networks .

Experience tuning and optimizing email systems for performance and reliability.

Familiarity with government system accreditation processes and cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
This is a 6 month contract, 40 hours/week, in Dahlgren, VA.
