Software Center Architect - National Security Sector
Leidos is seeking a software architect to be support our National Security Sector (NSS) software organization. The individual will support driving technical standards across the Sector for all software development activities. The standards will include development patterns, technology stacks, development processes, and software development metrics. The successful candidate will work with the SW Center Team, including the Chief Architect, Office of Technology (OOT) and Line leaders to ensure consistent delivery of mission software across NSS. The SW Center Architect will also support interactions between NSS and the SW Accelerator team. Experience with software development programs supporting national security customers in a classified setting is required. The successful candidate will have a wide range of technical experience to include mission software development, secure software practices, software architecture, DevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation. This position requires a technical leader who is ready to both roll up their sleeves to solve hard, interesting problems as well as step back and set a technology vision for growing the business. Dissemination of best practices and patterns across the organization through documentation of opinionated solutions and approaches is a core aspect of this position. Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the SW Center team, program teams, Line leadership, and CTO organization to identify software related technology and solution roadmaps to establish Leidos as a provider of choice for mission software across the National Security domain.
- Support the establishment of NSS best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for all aspects of software development across the Sector.
- Participate in the definition and proactively evolve the NSS Way" of software development that is applied to all programs and internal development efforts within the Sector.
- Support software related proposals and programs are following the defined approaches or have documented and approved tailoring plans.
- Work with the SW Center team to define a set of core software key performance indicators that will be required on all development activities.
- Support across business lines and programs to identify how programs can be strengthened with application of technology and/or innovation.
- Assist in development of analytics tooling and data pipelines for SWC reporting functions, including AWS services and ETL scripts based in Python
- Participate in internal SWC development efforts, including hands-on development, cloud architecture, and DevOps activities
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or Technology field and 8+ years of relevant work experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- US citizenship is required for this position with the ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
- Recent experience within the National Security domain (Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Department of Defense) with an understanding of those missions and operating environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization from program teams to Sector leadership.
- Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.
- Reside in the Washington Metropolitan Area with ability to travel to customer sites across the region.
- Scaled Agile Development experience.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Member of the Leidos Solution Architect program.
- Proven leader across the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience implementing solutions for multiple customers.
