Entry Level Data Center Technician

Looking for Entry-Level Technicians with Hands-On Experience – Start Your Career in Structured Cabling!

We are looking for candidates with experience working with their hands. This could include backgrounds in construction, landscaping, general labor, material handling, or similar roles. No prior cabling experience required — training will be provided.

Overview

Our client has multiple openings for entry-level technicians who are eager to learn a skilled trade in Structured Cabling. This is a great opportunity for individuals with hands-on work experience who want to move into a growing technical field with long-term career potential.

You will work alongside experienced technicians and team leads supporting network infrastructure installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Pull copper and fiber cabling
• Learn and apply cabling color codes
• Punch down and terminate cabling and fiber
• Install cable trays, J-hooks, and pathways
• Assist with building and organizing server racks
• Drop cable down walls using fish tape and other methods
• Route cabling through commercial spaces and data centers
• Organize, dress, label, and manage cable slack prior to termination
• Support cable using trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling
• Perform firestopping procedures and install sleeves through penetrations
• Terminate low-voltage devices
• Read and follow prints and documentation
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
• Follow company, customer, and industry safety and quality standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Willingness to learn structured cabling and low-voltage systems
• Comfortable using hand tools and performing physical work
• Ability to work in construction and data center environments

Preferred Background

• Hands-on experience in construction, landscaping, general labor, or material handling
• Trade school or technical school graduates looking for real-world experience

Additional Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well on a team
• Flexible schedule; ability to work 10-hour days if needed

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
