HR Director-General Construction

About the Position
The company is seeking a strategic and compliance-oriented Human Resources Director to lead and enhance the company’s HR operations. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will be a critical partner in ensuring the organization remains compliant with all HR regulations and delivers competitive, well-managed benefit programs to support employee well-being and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
Lead the design, administration, and evaluation of group medical, dental, vision, life, and ancillary benefit plans.
Conduct periodic reviews of the company’s retirement plans (401(k), profit-sharing, etc.), ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
Manage required employee notices and documentation related to benefits, compliance, and HR policies.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and managers on HR best practices, risk mitigation, and employee relations.
Partner with finance and legal departments to align HR initiatives with overall company goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
Proven experience within the construction, engineering, or related industries is highly desirable.
Deep knowledge of benefits design, compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, etc.), and retirement plan governance.
Strong understanding of employment law and HR documentation requirements.
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and foster cross-functional collaboration.
