Specialty Pharmacy Technician
Chesapeake, VA Work Shift
First (Days) Overview: Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Specialty Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. $5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates! Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320 Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating Days shift Hours: 8am-5pm Occasional Saturdays The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. - Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
- 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)
