Project Manager - Customer Support
The Customer Support Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames by performing the following duties personally or in cooperation with the Customer/Product Support/Regional Customer Support Managers.
Responsibilities
- Leads Customer Support functional teams through all project phases from initiation to closure, fulfilling all requirements of the project scope, completing all project deliverables, and achieving schedule, quality, and cost performance targets.
- Manages project changes through initial request, impact evaluation, and approval, followed by developing a new project baseline that accounts for the change.
- Develops project management plan defining work breakdown structure, task schedule, task interdependence, resource needs, project risks with mitigation plans, and project assumptions
- Obtains agreement for project management plan from core team, extended team, functional managers, and steering committee.
- Identifies potential blocking points, raises awareness of key stakeholders, collaborates with teams to resolve, and escalates to management as necessary.
- Represents the Customer Support department in product development projects aligning activities to meet the overall project requirements.
- Partners with Business Excellence Managers to develop project concepts for improving business process performance.
- Acts as a liaison with outside agents or other organizations and individuals involved in assigned projects.
- Reviews the status of projects and advises the factory and Affiliates of changes that modify schedules or plans as required.
- Prepares project status reports for factory management and steering committee (i.e., weekly, monthly, etc.).
- Collects and researches data; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully and completes administrative tasks correctly and on time.
- Develops alternative solutions individually as well as in group problem solving situations. Follows policies and procedures and supports organization's goals and values.
Competencies
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification is a plus.
- Travel domestically and internationally 20% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
- Ability to obtain/maintain regional and site-specific safety certifications.
