Mission Assurance Policy, Training, and Exercise Specialist
- Draft, review, and update mission assurance and emergency management policies, standard operating procedures, and concepts of operations
- Develop training materials for watchstanders, Crisis Action Team members, security staff, and Federal Coordinating Center personnel
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises
- Develop exercise planning packages and after-action reports
- Support interagency coordination, meeting documentation, and action tracking
- Additional duties as assigned
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting federal or Department of Defense policy development, emergency management training, or exercise programs
- Demonstrated experience serving as an action officer, policy analyst, or exercise planner
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, National Security Studies, or a related discipline
- OR ten (10) years of relevant personnel security experience in lieu of a degree
Desired Requirements:
- Prior experience supporting:
- Navy Medicine, Defense Health Agency, or Department of Defense headquarters policy efforts
- Emergency management or mission assurance programs
- Familiarity with:
- Navy staffing, coordination, and policy approval processes
- Federal Coordinating Center and Patient Reception Station plans
- HSEEP/JELC experience
- Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program training
- Federal Emergency Management Agency Incident Command System training
- Experience developing training curricula and exercise documentation in accordance with federal standards
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance
Other Requirements:
- May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds
- May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
- Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
- Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
