Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Manager, Field Sales position is to coach, lead, manage, develop and train their teams to maximize the value of retail using the general manager mindset. They are responsible for ensuring the achievement of Nestle in the Market sales, trade, share and distribution objectives to drive HPT, Client Satisfaction, and develop future talent. Acts as the account point person responsible for key sales survey, distribution and display information at store level (where applicable).
Location: Newark, NJ. Candidate must live within 100 miles of Newark, NJ
Primary Responsibilities:
Business Management:
- Achieve all KPI’s, Key Drive Times, Must Win Battles and company initiatives
- Review the results of deployed activities to ensure expected results are achieved
- Partner with account team and Sales Operations Managers (SOM) to identify store level selling opportunities
- Conduct market manager/customer meetings to drive Next Level Selling (NLS)
People/Team Development:
- Coach and develop direct team members to achieve all objectives
- Partners with HR to staff any open territories
- Promotes workforce diversity and upward mobility among all team members to reflect Nestle’s consumer base
- Conducts work-withs to provide coaching and observe individuals in market execution. Minimum of two work-withs per week.
- Lead People Development and Performance process for each direct report
- Deliver results while adhering to Nestle Safety Health & Environmental compliance expectation
Communication and Administration:
- Manage expenses in a fiscally responsible manner
- Communicate market observation to Sales Operations Managers, account teams and posted on internal platforms
- Partner with local deployer to make any territory adjustments
- Communicate with SOMs to address activity opportunities as needed
- Conduct area level meeting with direct reports to review business results
Position Requirements and Skills:
- University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years related work experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience:
- Retail sales experience consistently achieving or exceeding goals and KPI objectives, 3-5 years preferred
- Business Analytics experience, 2-3 years preferred
- Account Management experience ,1-2 years preferred
Working Conditions:
- Travel Requirements: may require frequent overnight travel up to 40% of the time as well as additional business travel to meet customer and operational needs.
- Driving: Regular long-distance driving is expected to visit client sites, attend meetings, and support field activities.
- Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within 50-100 miles of the largest cluster of stores in the assigned territory to ensure consistency and execution readiness.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift and transport promotional materials or product samples weighing up to 55 lbs
- Pushing/Pulling/Bending: May be required to set up displays or move carts during customer visits or events.
- Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking are common during store visits, trade shows, and fieldwork.
The approximate pay range for this position is $100,000-$137,000 base plus annual bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
