• Maintain sterile field integrity and ensure compliance with aseptic technique
• Perform precise surgical instrument handling and passing techniques
• Execute accurate surgical counts (sponges, needles, and instruments)
• Anticipate surgeon needs and prepare appropriate instrumentation
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in the orientation and education of new team members

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing
