Human Resources announces an opening for a 1.0 FTE Educational Administrative Assistant . This is a 196-days, Grade G-7 position located at Kenmore Middle School.

NOTE regarding work schedule/shift assignment: The work schedule is subject to change, depending upon the needs of APS. Incumbents in this class are hired for the position, not the work schedule or shift assignment. Once hired, an employee may be reassigned to another schedule or shift at the discretion of APS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs one or more sets of the following; may not include all duties performed; not all incumbents perform all essential functions delineated:

• Performs full range of entry or full proficiency level administrative support and secretarial tasks as assigned to support the instructional program; assisting school administration, teachers, and general school operations.
• Serve as receptionist; greets all visitors, answers phones, distributes mail, etc.
• Composes routine correspondence; may prepare information and presentation packets as needed.
• Organize and maintain files.

EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of business and school office procedures, practices, and equipment; business English and office terminology. Knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of computer equipment and computer programs utilized at APS (e.g. Synergy, FRONTLINE, and STARS); including good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED; including or supplemented by courses in business and office practices with a minimum of two years' responsible clerical experience, preferably in an education-related setting. Excellent human relations skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees at all levels, including students, parents, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner. Excellence in business English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. APPLY TO: SALARY:
