No Job Description: GDIT is seeking an Analyst to support the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) . The Analyst will help our team develop a new system to making it easier for researchers to find, access and use heart, blood, lung, and sleep data. This role requires an understanding of how to gather and communicate requirements from both existing documentation and engaging with users and stakeholders. The Analyst will have a strong understanding of biomedical research domain and using Agile methodologies to enable teams to create compelling software systems. HOW A BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST SENIOR PRINICPAL WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Working across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on requirements analysis and focusing on a new scientific application that searches for data in large datasets which include biological, genomic and/or proteomic data.
- Collaborating with the team to best realize system requirements, and when appropriate helping to validate those requirements.
- Gathering and capturing software system requirements in format such as user stories, wire frames, and acceptance criteria.
- Breaking down large requirements into smaller increments that can be more easily implemented ( e.g. Epics, into features, into stories).
- Engaging directly with users and potential system users to elicit requirements.
- Engaging with other system owners and stakeholder to facilitate collaboration.
- Collaborating with other team members to enable the teams to advance all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, and Testing).
- Collaborating with the team on Agile activities, including estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent).
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in analyzing and specifying the requirements of software systems and formatting them into user stories, wire frames, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience in data analysis with biomedical datasets.
- Experience working in the biomedical research domain.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience with the NHLBI BioData Catalyst environment; active NIH badge is a plus
- Experience analyzing and describing user interfaces and user experiences (UI/UX)
- Experience testing applications.
- Experience creating training materials.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NIH's Public Trust.

The likely salary range for this position is $118,796 - $160,724. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
