- Job-Specific Insights This position supports the Staunton District Bridge Safety Inspection Program by providing technical guidance to inspection teams and reviewing inspection reports for accuracy and compliance with NBIS, AASHTO, and VDOT standards. The Senior Engineer assists with structural analysis and load rating reviews to verify bridge capacity and recommend posting values or repairs when needed. This role helps ensure consistent, high-quality inspections that support the safety, reliability, and preservation of the district’s bridge inventory. Although design and structural engineering experience can be beneficial, this position is not design-focused; its primary responsibility is supporting the bridge safety inspection program.
