Towne Insurance is hiring a Market Managing Director to join our Norfolk team. The Market Managing Director is responsible for the overall growth and management of an assigned territory/market. The ideal candidate must be articulate, demonstrate leadership, and possess strong relationship management, influencing, vision, and execution skills. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement, focusing on top-line growth.

About the Role
- Develop relationships with key centers of influence, including banking and affiliate partners, to align referring partners and production resources.
- Lead and implement a growth plan specific to Middle Market P&C and EB businesses.
- Manage sales pipeline and foster a culture of accountability.
- Effectively manage P&L.
- Attract, hire, and recruit top talent for Middle Market sales growth.
- Oversee talent development and mentorship in coordination with Towne Insurance's Training and Development department.
- Leverage centers of influence to create partnerships aligned with the overall growth plan.
- Understand the competitive landscape, including competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and staff.
- Monitor activity and results regularly.
- Create strong relationships with carrier partners to leverage their knowledge within the territory.
- Share best practices with other Market Managing Directors.
- Plan for perpetuation 18 months prior to retirement.
- Partner with Regional Operations Leader to ensure team compliance with operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales for Personal Lines and Select.
- Work with Operations Leader to ensure customer service excellence.
- Lead by example; actively participate in community involvement to enhance the Towne Insurance brand.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Creative thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Extensive experience in a senior role within an Insurance Carrier or Brokerage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); Adobe Creative Suite skills are a plus.

- Experience in insurance or financial services.
- Attention to detail and high organization levels.
- Advanced degrees or industry designations (MBA, CPCU, ARM, etc.).
