- Lead Meaningful Projects: Manage all phases of diverse infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and project schedule requirements.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Serve as the principal point-of-contact, fostering strong relationships with project stakeholders and internal departments.
- Drive Innovation: Develop and implement effective project strategies that align with stakeholder needs and enhance community services.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor department employees, contributing to their growth and performance evaluations.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high customer service standards through inspections and proactive issue resolution.
- Oversee the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Review bids and recommend awards, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular project meetings and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
- Monitor project activities, mitigate risks, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and forecasting needs.
- Utilize best practices in project management for consistent successful outcomes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in comprehensive project management experience on a variety of complex project assignments varying in complexity, scale, and cost, specifically in municipal public works or similar environments.
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license & Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of municipal engineering principles, project management practices, and relevant software (Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS).
- 3-5 years of experience in municipal public works management or project management in a government setting.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
