Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is looking for a Software Tester to add to our team. The Software Tester will support manual and automated testing activities across multiple application releases. This role is responsible for developing and executing test cases, documenting results, and tracking defects to ensure software quality and readiness for deployment. The tester will work closely with development, architecture, and project teams to validate system functionality and support ongoing release cycles.

Duties:

• Develop, maintain, and execute test cases and test procedures for functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Document detailed test execution results using established tracking methods (e.g., Excel-based test logs).
• Log, track, and manage defects and enhancements in Jira through resolution.
• Validate requirements against delivered functionality to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in test case walkthroughs with development and project teams.
• Support post-deployment validation and production verification activities.
• Provide clear and timely status updates on testing progress and defect trends.
• Contribute to test readiness activities, including validation of test data and environments.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 4–7 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases within an Agile team.
• Ability to manage testing tasks across multiple concurrent releases.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while escalating risks appropriately.
• Experience using Jira for defect tracking and workflow management.
• Experience using Confluence and SharePoint for documentation and collaboration.
• Familiarity with X-Ray or similar test management tools is preferred.
• Experience documenting test results in structured formats (e.g., Excel or similar tools).
• Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks (Selenium, Postman, or similar) is a plus.
• Experience executing API, regression, integration, and functional testing.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Working Environment:
Hybrid; 2 days per week on-site in Ashburn, VA required.

Required Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain CBP clearance.

Salary Range:
Pay range information will be disclosed consistent with applicable state and local pay transparency laws once available. For this position, the anticipated salary range is $95,000.00-$108,000.00 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
