TMS is seeking junior and senior craft mechanics to work on USN Special Operations craft. The ideal candidate for Senior craft mechanic shall service and repair the craft and trailers, including light surface craft, Jet Ski’s, and various models of inboard and outboard motors. The Senior Craft Mechanics shall service, repair, test, and inspect trailers associated with transporting boats and watercraft. At times the Senior Craft Mechanics shall accompany a craft operations team during testing, evaluation and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, steering systems, and onboard equipment. At times, the Senior Craft Mechanic shall provide on-the-job training (OJT) instruction to entry level military and civilian mechanics to ensure that maintenance and repairs are properly addressed.

Senior Craft Mechanic: Shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certified mechanic with either Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki or Yamaha commercial, outboard engines and ancillary equipment. Must be factory certified mechanic on 250 HP Suzuki and 50 / 60 HP Raider outboard engines capable of performing depot level maintenance and repair.

Senior Craft Mechanic: Shall have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in aluminum, and glass reinforced plastic (GRP) hull repair, the process and the procedures required to make minor and major repairs; to include advanced depot level.

Senior Craft Mechanic shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience with troubleshooting and minor repairs of inboard marine diesel engines manufactured by Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel and Cummins.

The ideal junior craft mechanic shall service and repair the craft and trailers, including light surface craft, Jet Skis, and various models of inboard and outboard motors as assigned by the Senior Craft Mechanic. The Craft Mechanic shall provide on-the-job training (OJT) instruction to entry level military and civilian mechanics new to various types of propulsion and ancillary equipment.

The Craft Mechanic shall have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certified mechanic with either Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki or Yamaha commercial small outboard engines and ancillary equipment. Must be factory certified mechanic on 250 HP Suzuki and 50 / 60 HP Raider outboard engines capable of performing depot level maintenance and repair. Government will allow contractor six months to obtain Suzuki Qualification provided craft mechanics have at least 3 years military or commercial experience as craft mechanics.

Experience with troubleshooting and minor repairs of inboard marine diesel engines manufactured by Caterpillar and Cummings, as well as Hamilton and Kamewa waterjets is required.
