Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $8.50 per hour + Pooled Tips
(Total earnings typically range from $8.50–$20.00+ per hour depending on business levels and tip pool distributions.)

Expected Hours: 15–25 per week

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays required

Position Summary

Washington Dulles Marriott Suites is seeking a friendly, energetic, and service-focused Bartender/Server to join our Food & Beverage team. This is a dual-role position , and applicants must be comfortable and experienced performing both bartending and serving duties throughout their shift.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, while also providing full table service to guests in our hotel lounge and dining areas. This position requires someone who can seamlessly transition between tending bar and serving tables to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Bartending Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and company standards.
• Verify guest identification and comply with all alcohol service laws and regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
• Process guest payments accurately.

Serving Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and provide attentive table service.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to requests efficiently.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables throughout service.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with room service orders as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the lounge and dining areas.
• Support fellow team members during busy periods.
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience required.
• Previous serving experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to multitask and manage both bar guests and dining room tables.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

This position participates in a pooled tip program , meaning all eligible Food & Beverage team members share gratuities based on established hotel procedures. SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: 2 years’ experience as bartender preferred.

Other Requirements

• Knowledge of kitchen appliances and tools, both their proper use and how to clean them.
• Knowledge of proper food handling.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Ability to: perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. Prioritize and organize. Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Follow directions thoroughly. Understand guest’s service needs. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Work with minimal supervision. Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
