PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Norfolk, VA 23507 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Medicine Unit 4
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Start Date: August 10, 2025
• End Date: October 19, 2025
• Duration: 10-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1850–$1900 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), step-down, or acute care setting
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to PCU patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and ongoing health needs
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff
