Job Summary:
The Data Center Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for projects to ensure that NTI is a responsive bidder. Works with a team of Project Managers and Area Directors in the development of multidisciplinary estimates and works independently on projects of lesser scope and complexity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimate of costs for materials, labor and equipment based on provided scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
- Work with distribution to maintain best available pricing and lead times.
- Prepare cost breakouts and submit onto Excel bid form.
- Prepare proposals based on scope of work and bid specifications.
- Work with team, customer, or end user to generate RFI’s.
- Work with team, customer, or end user to generate work schedule.
- Work with team to provide ideas and improvements.
- Work with project management team to create project schedule.
- Reviews and understands all bid documents and material requirements to assess constructability and product material requirements.
Experience and Education:
- Telecommunications/IT Engineering or Construction Management degree “preferred.”
- 5+ years of experience in Telecommunications Infrastructure and Systems estimating.
- Must have experience in the construction industry or with Data Center projects.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.
- Able to work independently without much supervision and work well with a team.
- Must have time management skills and know hot to prioritize accordingly.
- Understands Costs and Market Conditions.
- Takes accountability for delivering on commitments.
- Identifies and understands differences in subcontractor quotations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, and estimating software.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Some local travel is required for projects.
Pay rates may vary based on skills, background, experience and specific location.
