Receptionist/Human Resources Assistant

Curtis Contracting, Inc., a Heavy Civil Highway Construction Company, is currently seeking a reliable and organized Receptionist/ Human Resources Assistant to join our team in our West Point, VA office. This is an entry-level administrative role , ideal for candidates looking to start or grow their career in human resources. As the face of our HR department, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while providing exceptional support to both employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors and maintain a professional, welcoming front desk environment
• Answer and route incoming phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner
• Provide administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and document management
• Assist with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
• Support the onboarding process by preparing materials and conducting new hire orientation
• Help maintain employee records and HR documentation
• Perform other clerical and administrative duties as needed to support the department

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in HR or business administration is a plus
• Previous experience in an administrative, receptionist, or HR support role preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Dependable and punctual with a positive, team-oriented attitude
