Software Developer (On Site)

Role Summary: Catalyst Operations & Analytics is seeking a Backend Developer with strong Python experience and a builder’s mindset to join our fast-moving technical team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, execution focused environment and wants to work on real-world problems. Due to customer requirements, U.S. citizenship is required .

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask).

• Design scalable microservices and containerized architectures to support AI pipelines.

• Integrate search, database, and queuing technologies (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Redis).

• Own backend performance, monitoring, and security.

• Collaborate with team members to deploy full-stack solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship required

• 3+ years of experience building backend systems in Python

• Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or Django

• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, especially working with models or pipelines

• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with asynchronous programming

• Strong SQL, Elasticsearch skills

• Experience with containerized deployments

• Clear communication, code ownership, and a team-first mindset

Additional Requirements: The role requires presence onsite at the headquarters in Vienna, VA, every workday. Responsibilities include collaborating directly with the technical team, necessitating daily presence in the office.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, Angular) is a plus.
