Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 annually
Location: Hampton Roads Area ( (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Newport News, and surrounding cities)
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the coordination, tracking, and execution of commercial roofing projects. You’ll assist with key project documentation, monitor schedules and budgets and ensure resource alignment to maintain our high-quality standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a measurable impact within a growing company. BONUS if you also have safety coordinator experience!
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Project Support: Assist in day-to-day project management across all construction phases.
- Preconstruction Assistance : Manage submittals, shop drawings, safety plans, and required documents.
- Design & Engineering: Support awarded projects with design and engineering tasks.
- Scheduling : Aid in developing and maintaining project schedules.
- Project Tracking & Logistics: Monitor project timelines and logistics planning.
- Document Review: Review contracts, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Budget & Analysis: Review budget reports and analyze variances from project baselines.
- Proposal Requests: Prepare RFPs, work orders, change orders, RFIs, and purchase orders for review.
- Supply Chain Management: Assist in procurement and material logistics.
- Billing Support : Help manage project billings and financial tracking.
- Close-out Procedures: Compile Operations and Maintenance manuals at project completion.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail in documentation and project tracking.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, or Bluebeam; Procore preferred.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills, comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read technical drawings and manage budgets.
- 1-5 years of experience working in a related construction industry
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with commercial roofing systems (single-ply, asphalt, cold/hot applied, metal).
Education and Experience
- Degree: Pursuing or holding a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods working on a computer.
- Capable of lifting up to 15 pounds.
Travel
- Must be able to travel to local and regional job sites, 3-5 days per month.
