Job Description

The Junior Accountant is an important position in the Controllership group, which includes a variety of activities within the General Ledger, Bitcoin and Tax areas. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

The offer is designed mainly to students from the following universities: University of Virginia, John Hopkins University, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, George Mason.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

General Ledger

• Process quarterly intercompany transactions
• Prepare and distribute the monthly interest calculations
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations
• Prepare and submit US Government Census Surveys
• Work on other finance projects that require technical knowledge, teamwork, problem-solving and effective communication skills
• Assist with banking administration, operations and relationships with domestic and international financial institutions
• Assist with the tracking and reporting of Strategy's digital assets
• Support monthly consolidation process

Tax

• Reconcile sales tax accounts and coordinate with outside service provider for indirect tax compliance (e.g., domestic sales and use taxes, Canadian HST/QST)
• Prepare estimated payments, extensions, annual reports, property tax returns, and business licenses
• Review, research and respond to tax notices
• Provide support to federal and state income/franchise tax audits, sales and use tax audits, including responding to inquiries
• Maintain tax department schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (UVA, JHU,VA Tech,Univ MD, Mason). Expected graduation in May 2025.
• Excellent computer skills: proficiency in MS Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
• Well-developed analytical and research abilities with effective communications skills
• High ethical standards
• Able to work as part of a team and interact with all areas within MSTR
• Highly organized, able to work on multiple projects and strive under pressure
• Hybrid role working Monday through Thursday at our Tysons Corner office from 8:30 am to 6 pm.
