Part Time Mental Health Aide

We're currently looking for a Part Time Mental Health Aide / Companion in Boones Mill, VA 24065. A lovely family in Boones Mill, near Roanoke, is seeking a compassionate, experienced Caregiver to support a joyful, warm client with mental-healthrelated needs. Care is needed one day per week for a minimum of 2 hours. The family is flexible on which days and times depending on the candidate's availability. This role is ideal for someone with a behavioral health background who can provide light oversight, companionship, medication organization, and support with recognizing mental-health red flags.

Schedule: One shift per week 2-4 hours: Dependent on the candidate's availability and the needs of the client (longer shifts would have notice)

Start date: ASAP

Length of Position: Ongoing

Rate: $60-80 per shift based on experience

Age of Client: 71 years old

Responsibilities

Provide companionship, emotional support, and monitoring for mental-healthrelated red flags

Communicate with family about concerns, updates, and changes in behavior

Coordinate directly with medical providers as needed

Assist with medication organization and checking medication expiration dates

Offer medication reminders

Provide occasional transportation to appointments with advanced notice

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the United States

2+ years of paid, professional relevant experience

Must be able to provide at least two professional relevant references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional experience, whichever is greater

CPR certified or willing to become certified

Has valid driver's license, clean driving record, and driver's insurance

Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check

Preferred Education/Training: Certified Behavioral / Mental Health Technician or CNA or Medical Assisting

Compensation

Position pays $60$80 per shift, depending on experience.
