Job Summary:

Responsible for accurately selecting the block/masonry products ordered by the customer and safely loading onto delivery vehicles according to established safe loading procedures. Also responsible for performing routine maintenance on equipment, ensuring that the block yard area is properly maintained and organized and assisting “walk up” customers with loading materials as needed. .

• Prepares equipment for plant start-up each morning.
• Performs general housekeeping tasks in and around the plant building and yard as needed including tasks such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cutting grass, etc…
• Maintains the overall orderly organization of equipment and supplies in and around the yard and plant.
• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of plant grounds.
• Observes all federal, state, local and company safety policies, procedures, practices and regulations while performing job duties.
• Maintains current knowledge of masonry products produced and available for sale.
• Assists customers with loading and safely securing products on private vehicles.
• Monitor the operation of concrete block production.
• Must wear proper PPE at all times.
• Other duties as directed by the plant manager

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

• Experience with general or routine maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instruction and work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to read, write and distinguish colors.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

• Forklift
• Front End Loader
• Various hand and power tools.
• Water hose.
• Push broom.

• Occasional bending, stooping and kneeling.
• Frequent periods of extended sitting.
• Frequent/Occasional need to climb in/out of forklift/front end loader
• Occasional need to stretch, reach and grab.
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent use of foot pressure to operate clutch and transmission.
• Occasional periods of walking across uneven surfaces

Environmental Conditions (Personal Protective Equipment is provided where necessary or requested)

• Majority of work performed outside.
• Exposure to elements of weather including heat, cold, rain and dust.
• Occasionally/frequently exposed to rough, muddy, icy walking surfaces.
• Intermittent exposure to high noise levels and vibration.
• Frequent exposure to moving parts/pieces of equipment.
• Frequent exposure to dust, diesel fuel, propane and other substances that may cause burns, be toxic or explosive if handled incorrectly.
• Frequent exposure to water and wet conditions.
• May work in enclosed areas in cleaning the concrete mixer.
