Schedule:
- 36 hours per week guaranteed
- 12-hour day shifts, 11 a.m. 11 p.m.
- Overnight call two shifts per week, plus weekend call averaging two shifts
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license eligible for practice in Virginia (or compact state)
- Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; CNOR/CRNFA certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of surgical assistant experience required
- Da Vinci Robot experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative care for all ages in a busy main operating room
- First Assist during surgical procedures across specialties (robotics, spine, ortho, gen surgery, GYN, vascular, and more)
- Carry out patient assessment, care planning, and implementation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient care coordination
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, aseptic techniques, and regulatory guidelines
- Mentor staff and participate in ongoing departmental education and quality improvement initiatives
- Assist anesthesia and handle surgical equipment, maintaining a safe environment
