Schedule:

• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• 12-hour day shifts, 11 a.m. 11 p.m.
• Overnight call two shifts per week, plus weekend call averaging two shifts

Key Qualifications:

• Valid RN license eligible for practice in Virginia (or compact state)
• Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; CNOR/CRNFA certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of surgical assistant experience required
• Da Vinci Robot experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative care for all ages in a busy main operating room
• First Assist during surgical procedures across specialties (robotics, spine, ortho, gen surgery, GYN, vascular, and more)
• Carry out patient assessment, care planning, and implementation in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patient care coordination
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, aseptic techniques, and regulatory guidelines
• Mentor staff and participate in ongoing departmental education and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist anesthesia and handle surgical equipment, maintaining a safe environment
