Nurse (LPNRN) Piedmont Pediatrics, Full-time or Part-time

Piedmont Pediatrics is a closely owned independent pediatric practice striving to provide personalized comprehensive and family-oriented care.
We are seeking an enthusiastic caring and responsible RN or LPN for a full-time or part-time position in our busy office. We work together to provide excellent care to our patients and their families and value long-term relationships with our patients and our staff built on mutual trust and respect.
Pediatric experience is preferred but not required. Pay commensurate with experience.
Our office cares for patients from birth through the college years is an established user of electronic medical records (EMR) and strives to foster a collaborative and supportive team atmosphere.
Our full-time nurses typically work 4 days each week totalling 36-40 hours. The practice is open seven days a week with Saturday and Sunday worked on a rotational basis about one weekend every 5-6 weeks. We have offices in both Charlottesville and Crozet. Hourly differential is paid for weekend -time work working 2-3 days per week is also an option.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the mission of Piedmont Pediatrics.
- Prepare exam rooms for examination of patients.
- Keeping patient areas clean and well stocked.
- Performs initial assessment of patients measure vital signs (e.g. pulse rate temperature blood pressure respirations weight and height) and record information in patients chart.
- Participate in implementation and evaluation of patient care.
- Prepare for and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Thorough and clear communication with team in regard to patient care.
- Update team on the status of patient flow so the need for assistance can be assessed quickly and appropriate scheduling maintained to reduce patients wait times.
- Phone triage.
- Maintain and organize all instruments drugs equipment and supplies.
- Prepare and administer vaccines medications nebulizer and other treatments as directed by the provider.
- Perform calibrations and other quality control tests on laboratory equipment.
- Accurately obtain specimens ensure lab testing is performed and results are documented.
- Handle urgent or emergency situations in collaboration with the providers.
- Provide anticipatory guidance to patients.
- Share educational information lab forms school forms medication forms and x-ray slips to patients as requested by their providers.
- Promote a safe working environment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Perform all office and lab opening/closing duties if assigned.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude under all circumstances.
- Attend all team meetings and daily huddles as well as any project trainings.
- Participate in flu and other vaccine clinics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed RN or LPN in the state of Virginia
- 1-2 years medical office experience in pediatrics preferred.
- Must be a team player.
- Strong verbal communication skills ability to multi-task and can pay close attention to detail is a must.
- Must have strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be flexible with rotating work schedule. Evening and weekend hours required.
- Must be available to work in all office locations if needed.
