Job Summary and Qualifications
The ACO Finance Manager will create and maintain enterprise financial reporting and analytics solutions using electronic health data to support value-based care capabilities for all VCP lines of business. You will work closely with VCP leadership to assist with the development and identification of actionable strategies to mitigate network cost and utilization trends. You will provide network leadership with innovative analytical solutions to drive effective value-based care program outcomes and financial models.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct financial analysis and interpretation of all VCP lines of business (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid), specifically related to primary care and specialist physician spend and population cohort performance. Deliver robust analysis of strategic opportunities, providing deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape and performance to support business cases for strategic and program initiatives.
- Lead a variety of projects related to the analysis of claims, clinical and financial data, with a focus on improving financial performance and health outcomes for accountable care populations using a variety of tools and programming languages (PowerBI, Excel, Python, SQL).
- Develop and lead reporting processes required to support population health initiatives, such as physician profiling, patient registries, cost/quality/utilization metrics, risk analytics and trending. Derive actionable insights to engage and enable our provider/clinical partners.
- Serve as the primary financial resource in VCP contract review and decision support teams. Prepare business case evaluations and provide leadership with recommendations on proposals.
- Oversee the process of auditing contract performance results, contract settlements and related supporting data to ensure payer reported results are consistent with contractual terms.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, accounting or related field with quantitative focus required; advanced degree or professional certification preferred
- Possess strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated experience solving complex business problems through the application of descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive advanced analytics approaches using statistical methodologies
- Exceptional computer skills particularly with MS Office Suite applications, including advanced understanding of Excel, Power BI and comparable analytics tools; proficient with analytics or database programs like SQL, Python, R, and others to accomplish statistical methodologies or forecasts
- Proven ability to analyze large amounts of raw data to identify trends that could be used to define and drive strategy and performance.
- Advanced understanding of value-based care programs, program design, provider value-based contracting, financial/reimbursement models, claims and clinical data, and financial forecasting
- Five years' work experience in healthcare insurance, population health, medical economics, or operational data analysis in a healthcare setting
- The ideal candidate will portray confidence, a sense of humor, and positive energy, be capable of handling multiple and potentially conflicting assignments, demands and priorities to meet required deadlines
