Data Migration Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Lead to support a critical data migration project for a government agency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with large-scale data migrations system integration and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the transition process. This role requires working within a secure regulated environment and adhering to federal data governance standards.

Job Location: Remote work is authorized. Must support US Eastern time zone working hours .

What You Will Do:

• Plan design and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to new platforms (on-premise cloud or hybrid).

• Work closely with government stakeholders project managers database administrators and developers to ensure successful data transitions.

• Analyze legacy data structures and perform data mapping and transformation based on target system requirements.

• Develop and implement data validation reconciliation and quality assurance processes.

• Create detailed migration documentation including data flow diagrams data dictionaries and test plans.

• Troubleshoot migration issues and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

• Comply with government data security standards compliance frameworks (e.g. FISMA NIST) and privacy regulations.

• Provide status reports progress updates and support post-migration activities including audits and validations.

What You Will Bring With You:

• U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card is required due to federal contract requirements

• Candidate must reside in the U.S. be authorized to work in the U.S. and all work must be performed in the U.S.

• Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years.

• Candidate must currently have or be able to obtain a public trust clearance.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field

• 8 years of experience leading 3 enterprise migrations across 3 data sources with financial reconciliation metadata/lineage tooling and privacy/records experience.

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:

• Masters degree preferred.

• Experience migrating to/from cloud platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud)

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica Talend SSIS) scripting (Python SQL) and database platforms (Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL etc.)

• Highly effective analytical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively at all levels of the business.

• Ability to create and deliver project related presentations & lead executive project updates

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :

$118730.00 - $201840.00
