Join Our Team as a Permanent Supportive Housing Supervisor!

Are you a passionate leader committed to ending homelessness and fostering housing stability for individuals with serious mental illness? We are seeking a dedicated Permanent Supportive Housing Supervisor to provide direct supervision, leadership, and program oversight for our Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program.

In this role, you will ensure our services align with Housing First principles and harm reduction strategies, adhering to all regulatory and funding requirements, including DBHDS and SAMSHA fidelity standards. You will play a critical role in staff development and collaborate with community partners to reduce homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, organization, and delivery of PSH services, ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations.

• Supervise, train, mentor, and support the housing team, clearly defining performance expectations.

• Provide guidance to staff on client services, assessments, and individualized service plans.

• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with tenants, service providers, landlords, and community partners.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• In-depth understanding of mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbance, and developmental/intellectual disabilities, as well as Housing First principles, harm reduction, and relevant housing laws.

• Expertise in treatment modalities, intervention techniques, and the principles of planning, evaluating, supervising, and coordinating staff, including clinical supervision.

• Extensive knowledge of community and state resources, including healthcare, support services, and specialized mental health programs.

• Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain trusting relationships.

• Proficiency in client assessment, individualized service planning, resource navigation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

• Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, organizational skills, time management, and computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, respond effectively to change, promote teamwork, drive, travel, and participate in behavioral intervention training.

• Skill in accurately completing all record requirements and maintaining confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in human services with related experience working with the SMI and/or homeless population or in the housing field with experience providing administrative oversight to a program and staff, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to obtain a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in the State of Virginia (required).

• Valid Driver's License (required).

• In-depth knowledge of mental illness, substance use disorders, Housing First principles, and relevant laws.

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
