Server

Finn & Fire is seeking polished, knowledgeable Servers to join our opening dining room team. This role is for someone who understands that elevated service is equal parts technical precision, emotional intelligence, urgency, and personal presence.

Our menu brings together pristine seafood, sushi technique, live-fire cooking, premium meats, bold Peruvian flavors, and the polished energy of a modern steakhouse. Servers at Finn & Fire will be expected to guide guests confidently through the food, beverage, and overall dining experience while helping create the rhythm, warmth, and standard of a new restaurant from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver warm, professional, and attentive service according to Finn & Fire standards.

Guide guests through a menu rooted in Peruvian Nikkei cuisine, seafood, sushi, live-fire cooking, premium meats, and polished steakhouse-style hospitality.

Learn and communicate menu details with confidence, including ingredients, preparations, flavor profiles, allergens, dietary accommodations, and chef-driven recommendations.

Develop strong working knowledge of the beverage program, including cocktails, wine, sake, spirits, nonalcoholic beverages, coffee, tea, and pairings.

Provide thoughtful recommendations that feel natural, informed, and tailored to the guest.

Maintain excellent table presence, pacing, timing, order accuracy, and communication throughout service.

Read the dining room actively and anticipate guest needs before being asked.

Understand how to balance warmth, professionalism, salesmanship, discretion, and urgency in a high-standard restaurant environment.

Work closely with hosts, bartenders, runners, back servers, chefs, and managers to create a seamless guest experience.

Handle guest requests, special occasions, dietary needs, and service issues with composure and care.

Maintain clean, organized, and properly set tables, stations, and service areas.

Support opening and closing duties, side work, polishing, restocking, and service preparation.

Execute calmly and efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining polish and attention to detail.

Uphold food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and hospitality standards.

Contribute to a disciplined, respectful, focused, and professional opening-team culture.

Qualifications

Previous serving experience in a serious restaurant environment preferred.

Strong understanding of professional hospitality, guest awareness, timing, and table service.

Ability to describe food and beverage with clarity, confidence, warmth, and restraint.

Comfortable serving guests with high expectations in a polished, energetic dining room.

Interest in Peruvian, Japanese, Nikkei, seafood, sushi, steakhouse, wine, cocktails, or fine dining environments preferred.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay composed under pressure.

Strong communication skills and a team-first mentality.

Professional appearance, punctuality, humility, and accountability.

Comfortable taking direction, receiving coaching, and refining service technique.

Curious intelligence, coachability, and genuine interest in hospitality are required.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate plus tips, based on experience.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.

About Finn & Fire

Finn & Fire is a new Peruvian Nikkei restaurant in Alexandria with a strong seafood focus, live-fire influence, premium meats, and a polished steakhouse sensibility. The restaurant is being built with high standards, sharp execution, and a clear culinary point of view.

As part of the opening team, this role will help define the restaurant’s service culture, guest experience, rhythm, professionalism, and identity from day one.
