Brazer

As a Brazer, you will be responsible for assembling flare tube extensions, return bends, and various copper hookup components into coils. You will also join these components using a brazing rod with an oxygen-acetylene torch. The role requires preparing coils for brazing, making setups, and the ability to braze any coil that comes through the department. You will need to read blueprints and use simple arithmetic to complete your tasks.

• Assemble and braze headers and manifold components.
• Braze sub-assemblies using various rods, return bends, headers, and subassemblies to coils using coil prints.
• Monitor inventory levels of headers and manifold sub-assemblies.
• Braze components using a braze torch and braze rod BCUP 5 and Stay-Silv Brazing Flux.
• Perform brazing of 180 & 360 degree with a braze torch.
• Braze brass fittings to copper.
• Use various hand tools effectively.
• Read blueprints and perform simple arithmetic calculations.

• Proficiency in brazing techniques.
• Experience with mechanical assembly.
• Skillful use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to measure accurately with a tape measure.

• Experience with brazing 180 & 360 degree using a braze torch.
• Familiarity with using braze rod BCUP 5 and Stay-Silv Brazing Flux.
• Capability to braze brass fittings to copper.

Work in a large plant environment that is non-temperature controlled. Be prepared to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds non-repetitively. Stooping may also be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, VA.

The pay range for this position is $23.53 - $26.14/hr.
