The City of Falls Church VA is recruiting for a Maintenance Worker in the Recreation and Parks is full-time work including setting up and breaking down of daily classes and events maintaining the community center to include general daily custodial duties; perform scheduled routine maintenance to include carpet cleaning floor waxing etc. This position will also assist Park crews during snow removal and special events.

Requirements:

• Must report to work in and wear steel-toed safety shoes of an acceptable standard at all times on the job effective first scheduled workday
• Must be available to work weekends and overtime as well as respond to emergency situations
• Experience in maintenance work preferred especially in the areas outlined above
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods under all weather conditions to include extremely hot summer weather as well as perform snow and ice removal during winter.
• Valid Drivers License in state of residency with a good driving record
• Satisfactory pre-employment physical drug screen and background check

Hours: 12 PM to 8:30 PM Monday through Friday with ability to work weekends holidays and special events. Adjusted schedule select evenings to cover concerts in the park and movies in the park.
