THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate is a compassionate, ethical, and confident clinician who is committed to providing exceptional client care. Clinicians should demonstrate confidence in clinical decision-making appropriate to their level of training and licensure, while recognizing when consultation or supervision is needed. They are a self-starter who thrives in an autonomous environment, demonstrates sound clinical judgment, and is comfortable managing their caseload independently while remaining open to consultation and collaboration with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents and demonstrate the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with younger clients and their families. Experience working with trauma, attachment concerns, foster care, adoption, or family systems is highly valued!

This position is especially well-suited for clinicians who value independence, enjoy building therapeutic relationships, and want the flexibility of private practice with the support of a collaborative clinical team.

JOB OVERVIEW: The successful Mental Health Therapist will provide psychosocial evaluation, determine appropriate therapeutic approaches, provide direct therapeutic mental health services and treatment planning in order to oversee the overall mental health wellbeing of clients and to support client growth in health, happiness and healing.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Perform initial evaluations of the needs of individuals, couples, families and groups, and develop customized treatment plans accordingly
  • Provide therapeutic interventions as appropriate to reach treatment goals
  • Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain client records with proper documentation within 48 hours of service from initial consultation to end of treatment through the practice Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Coordinate with social and medical agencies, healthcare providers and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services
  • Consult with other therapists and related professionals or paraprofessional staff as appropriate in the performance of therapeutic services
  • Refer clients to appropriate service agencies as needed
  • Complete required continuing education in order to maintain professional license and stay up to date on latest practices
  • Participate in review of clinical issues, program policies and procedures during weekly team meetings
  • Compliance with appropriate ethical guidelines as outlined by licensing board
  • Participate in mandatory virtual Team Meetings held the second and fourth Monday of each month

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a directly related field
  • If licensed, current unrestricted license as LPC, LCSW or equivalent level for the state in which you intend to practice
  • Experience providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to apply mental health counseling methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of community mental health resources
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical counseling principles and methodology
  • Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards
  • Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications
  • Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients’ rights.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and sympathetic nature
  • Ability to utilize current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to discern accurate diagnoses

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • If licensed, must be able to be credentialed with insurance companies
  • If licensed, must maintain and provide proof of licensed certification status
  • Proof of professional liability insurance coverage
  • Registration with appropriate board as Resident in Counseling/Supervisee in Social Work with a supervisor (employee of The Healing Project, LLC) who will review and sign off on client notes

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION:

  • COMPENSATION: Compensation is based on an hourly rate plus fee-split bonus incentives. Compensation structure varies based on licensure status (licensed vs. prelicensed) and experience.
  • EMPLOYMENT STATUS: This is a part time W-2 position with a minimum expectation of eight (8) completed clinical sessions per week. Opportunities to increase hours and transition to a full-time schedule may be available based on mutual interest and client demand.
  • BENEFITS:
    • Full-time employees are eligible for paid vacatio n.
    • All employees are eligible to participate in the company retirement plan .
    • Clinical supervision is available for prelicensed clinicians through approved supervisors at an additional fee.
    • Comprehensive administrative suppor t is provided for billing, collections, insurance verification, and initial client intake coordination.
    • Clinicians participate in twice-monthly team meetings focused on collaboration, consultation, and practice communication. We encourage a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and shared problem-solving.
  • WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible scheduling is available; however, evening and weekend availability is required to meet current client needs. This position is primarily in-person, with limited telehealth opportunities available based on client and practice needs. There is potential for the position to grow into a full-time role.
  • CLIENT POPULATIONS SERVED: The Healing Project provides therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents is required. Caseloads are developed based on clinician experience, training, and areas of clinical competence.
