Payroll Specialist
Kforce has a client in Chantilly, VA that is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states using ADP. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll best practices, multi-state compliance, and a commitment to delivering timely and accurate payroll services. Key Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly or biweekly payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states using ADP
- Ensure accuracy in payroll data including hours worked, PTO, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Monitor and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including multi-state tax regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, tax forms, and direct deposit changes
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll closings
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accuracy of employee data and benefit deductions
- Generate and distribute payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders as needed
- Support annual processes such as W-2 issuance and audit preparation
- Someone with 3-5 years of deep Payroll and must have ADP experience
- Experience processing at least 500 employees on a multi-state payroll
- Someone who can really dig into the weeds
- Someone with a positive attitude and work ethic
- Good personality and can work between multiple systems
- Can multitask and does not get stressed out
- Able to communicate across different departments
