Senior Supervisor, Production

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

The Senior Supervisor Production provides leadership to supervisors, leads and a teams of hourly production employees, ensuring the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

• Provide leadership to Supervisors, teams leads and front-line hourly production team members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
• Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and develop/implement corrective action plans.
• Maintain production schedule, meeting both quality and productivity requirements.
• Maintain good inventory control procedures for all raw material that may be required in assignment department(s).
• Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to ensure the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and project cycle time performance.
• Be knowledgeable of company policies and engage appropriate resources (HR, Safety, etc.) when required to handle issues that arise.
• Support, communicate, implement, sustain, and consistently enforce all company policies/procedures
• Build and sustain good morale and attitudes among all reporting associates.
• Initiate requisitions for open positions. Interview and determine best candidate for position
• Document associate skills and knowledge to create a skills matrix of employee training needs and accomplishments
• Ability to capture/analyze data regarding productivity - Understand through observations the causes for high and low productivity.
• Understand production requirements and direct resources appropriately to procure shipment items.
• Communicate decisions with data and documentation.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping in ADP for all assigned direct reports.
• Enforce safety rules, practices and procedures to assure safety of associates, buildings, grounds and machinery.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the basic qualifications?

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisor position and or equivalent roles
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment related to food-refrigeration products.

What are the preferred qualifications?

• Two years' experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.
