Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Petersburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic tech and media environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure and welcoming atmosphere. By conducting regular patrols and remaining highly visible, you play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service. Your communication skills will support positive interactions with visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm and problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity or unsafe conditions. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited items.
• Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client protocols.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, site personnel, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Experience providing customer service is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Certification in CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
