Position Summary
We are seeking aCertified Medical Assistantto support our providers at our Arlington, VA clinic. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities to help ensure seamless patient care and efficient daily operations.The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain patient records, medical charts, and documentation
- Schedule appointments for physical exams and chronic disease management
- Process prior authorizations and referrals, and respond to inquiries from patients and providers
- Track and link diagnostic imaging (DI) with provider orders
- Confirm patient insurance for billable lab services
- Take and document patient vitals, screenings, and health logs
- Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms
- Operate equipment (EKG, X-ray, etc.) and assist with diagnostic testing
- Administer injections and perform routine lab tests
- Support PCMH and quality initiatives
- Cover staff absences and assist team members as needed
- Interpret instructions, communicate clearly, and solve routine problems
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to sit, communicate verbally, use hands for various tasks, and actively listen
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 10 lbs.

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program
- Current (not expired) CCMA, CMA, or RMA Certification
- Current BLS or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Primary Care experience
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW)and Athena
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Awareness of population health
Medical Clearance
Must meet CPCs medical clearance requirements, including documentation for:
- Hepatitis B vaccination
- Pneumococcal screening
- Tuberculosis screening
