Hourly Pay: 23.23

Work Schedule: Every other weekend, 4:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., including holidays.

What does a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor do?

As a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will engage in an enriching role dedicated to supporting non-pregnant, pregnant, and postpartum women diagnosed with substance use disorders. Our comprehensive residential program provides gender-specific treatment in a secure and nurturing environment tailored to individual needs. You will adopt a holistic approach to prevention, intervention, and support, promoting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of residents and their families. A solid understanding of trauma-informed care principles and gender-responsive treatment approaches is essential for providing effective and compassionate support. Success in this role requires strong communication skills to build rapport with residents and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
