Accounting Assistant

Accounting Specialist – 100% Onsite | Hopewell, VA | $20–$25/hr

Location: Onsite in Hopewell, VA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (flexible lunch)

Hours: 30 hours/week to start, anticipated increase to 40 hours/week

Start Date: within 2 weeks

About the Role

We’re seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to support daily financial operations within a small, collaborative office environment. This role is fully onsite and works closely with the AP team and HR/Special Affairs. The company’s main corporate office is located in Taiwan, so comfort working across significant time‑zone differences is important.

This position is open due to an upcoming departure and temporary leave within the HR/Accounting support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and process journal entries in SAP
• Maintain and reconcile bank account balances
• Perform month‑end closing tasks
• Analyze financial data and prepare financial/statistical reports
• Receive invoices after payment and ensure accurate SAP entry
• Perform cost coding
• Reconcile bank statements
• Manage, enter, and code large credit card balances
• Support AP/AR functions, including follow‑up on outstanding items
• Assist with 1099 preparation as needed

Experience & Qualifications

• SAP experience strongly preferred
• Background in finance, accounting, or AP/AR
• Experience generating statistical or financial reports
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently in a small office
• Comfortable coordinating with teams across different time zones

Work Environment

• Small office of approximately 12 employees
• Around 40 employees on the production side
• Frequent interaction with AP and HR/Special Affairs teams

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
