AHRI Accounts Payable Specialist

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. AHRI is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance Team . The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the review, processing, and payment of invoices received from labs used by AHRI for certification testing. The Accounts Payable Specialist is also responsible for processing expense reports, special funds billing, sales and use tax reporting and reconciliation of Anybill accounts as well as providing general accounting support to the Senior Director of Accounting. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Review and process lab invoices and upload to ACID for approval and to Anybill for payment.
  • Review and process vendor invoices in Anybill.
  • Review and process employee reimbursements.
  • Assist in the processing of credit cards and refunds for Northern American Technician Excellence (NATE) customers and other tasks related to NATE, our sister company.
  • Serve as gatekeeper for Anybill – ensure invoice details are correct and routed to the correct person.
  • Input of other AHRI direct Payments (wires, ACH, Expense reports).
  • Update worksheets and send to general ledger for entry.
  • Coordinate, post, document, and adjust credits/refunds to current or future monthly payments.
  • Responsible for the quarterly reconciliation of the New Jersey, New York, and Virginia sales tax accounts and submit for payment to A/P.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Accounting or related field. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
AHRI offers a full benefits package with a flexible work schedule and a friendly work environment. Subject to supervisor approval, AHRI employees are eligible for participation in AHRI's alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment and a 90-day appraisal at a level of meets expectations. The salary hiring range for this position is $60,000-66,000.

Please note that this position does not have an option to work remotely.
